Through the wonderful efforts of volunteers and generous donations, bunk beds are built, assembled and delivered to those children who are otherwise sleeping on couches, blankets or even floors.
Kairos Kitchen is a ministry of our church that gives hungry people in our area an opportunity to meet in a Christian atmosphere, receive communion from one of our pastors, have access to a sympathetic, listening ear, as well as a hot meal provided for by volunteers. The Easter Season is the most joyous and celebratory season of the Christian year. We celebrate the good news that in Christ’s death and resurrection we, and all creation, are continually being made new by God’s love and saving grace. Our Easter Sunday service is also joyous and celebratory, filled with beautiful flowers, glorious music, and an up-lifting message!
Good Friday proclaims God's purpose of loving and redeeming the world even in the face of human rejection and cruelty through the cross of our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is a day that is holy and makes us holy because God was drawing the world to God's self in Christ. Our worship service will feature a traditional stripping of the sanctuary, a solemn service of readings, prayers, and music.
Maundy Thursday is an alternate name for Holy Thursday, the first of the three days of solemn remembrance of the events leading up to and immediately following the crucifixion of Jesus. The English word "Maundy" comes from the Latin mandatum, which means "commandment."
As recorded in the gospels, on his last night before his betrayal and arrest, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples at the Last Supper and then gave them a new commandment to love one another as he had loved them. Our Maundy Thursday service will likewise include a symbolic "foot washing" and communion service.
